Backup QB Dalton Lewis stepped-up in a big way Friday night against Alleghany, going 10-15 for 137 yards, two TD's and no picks during Ashe County's 39-19 the Trojans. Lewis, a junior, took over for Daniel Waln who broke his foot during practice earlier in the week.
Lewis connected with receiver Kyle Guyton (above) on a 59-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter of Friday night's 39-19 defeat of Alleghany.
Ashe County started off it's 2008 football season with a bang: Shutting out conference foe West Wilkes 56-0. The Huskies travel to West Caldwell on Friday.
QB Daniel Waln put up 258 yards of total offense, rushing for two scores and passing for another.
HB Aaron Scott added two touchdowns on the ground.
